Hello! FUBAR Labs will be at World Maker Faire this weekend, September 29th and 30th in the Hackerspace Area, next to the Power Racing Series track! Come say “Hi!” and check out some of the projects we are working on. Details, including map and schedules, at http://www.makerfaire.com -- if you’ve never been to Maker Faire, you must find a way to get there this year! FUBAR-B-Q & Open House -- Join us for food and fun! 6PM, October 6th (Saturday after Maker Faire) -- RSVP on Meetup! We also have a full set of classes coming up for the Fall after Maker Faire. Here’s the schedule, click the links to register, more details further down:
Check http://fubarlabs.org for latest info and updates. More Details: October 14th, 1-4PM: Intro to Electronics and Breadboarding. Come learn the basics of circuitry, electronics and working with breadboards, including resistors, potentiometers, LEDs, circuits, and more! Class includes a small electronics kit. This class, combined with “Intro to Programming” and Intro to Arduino, will get you well on your way to working with Arduino. Registration is now open! October 20th, 1-4PM: Intro to Programming with Processing. Processing is a fun, easy to use, cross platform programming environment. If you’ve never programmed before, or are rusty, this is a great class to get your started. You’ll learn about variables, loops, syntax This class, combined with Intro to Electronics and Intro to Arduino, will get you well on your way to hacking with Arduino. Bring your laptop -- or let us know if you need one provided! Registration is now open! October 21st, 1-4PM: Intro to Arduino. Arduino is a fun, easy to use microcontroller used by artists, hackers, and makers in various projects that require electronic control. This class will give you a good understanding of how to get your Arduino controlling outputs, reading inputs (analog and digital), making decisions, and working with libraries, such as the servo library. Tickets are available that include a small electronics kit, and optionally an Arduino Uno. Intro to Electronics and Breadboarding and Intro to Programming courses are recommended if you need more experience in those areas. Bring your laptop -- or let us know if you need one provided! Registration is now open! November 3rd, 1-4PM: Intro to the Laser Cutter. FUBAR has a 40W CO2 laser cutter that is useful for cutting wood and acrylic. Come learn the basics of operating the machine so that you can start making projects with it! Bring your laptop -- or let us know if you need one provided! Registration is now open! November 4th, 1-4PM: Advanced Arduino. This class is for anyone who understands the basics of the Arduino Microcontroller and wants to take their projects to the next level. In 'Advanced Arduino' you will learn to write sketches that fully take advantage of the capabilities of the Arduino. You will also learn new ways make your Arduino communicate with other devices. Topics include:
Bring your laptop -- or let us know if you need one provided! Students must also provide their own Arduino and USB cable, or choose the Arduino option above (supplies are limited).
Students are expected to understand the basics of the Arduino, including digital and analog input/output, if and loop statements, and basic serial output (sending text output to the computer). This class picks up where our previous class, Intro to Arduino left off. Students who attended Intro to Arduino will receive a $10 cash rebate on the day of the class.
Bring your laptop -- or let us know if you need one provided! Registration is now open! November 17th, 1-4PM: Creating Circuit Boards with Fritzing. Details coming soon! November 18th, 1-4PM: Arduino and Motor Shields. Details coming soon! December 2nd, 1-4PM: Arduino and LCD Screens. Details coming soon!
